Meet the Mohameds

Seeking a new beginning in Utopia
Dear Utopians,
We are Omar and Fatima Mohamed, writing to you with open hearts and a deep hope for a fresh start. We are a family of three—soon to be four—who have endured hardship with resilience and dignity. Six years ago, we fled Gulag because of persecution, bringing our daughter Amira, now ten, to safety. We sought asylum in the United States, believing it would be the beginning of a new life. Instead, we faced years of uncertainty, hearings, and appeals. Our claim was denied, and we face deportation.
Despite the challenges, we have never stopped working. Fatima cleaned homes, and I labored in agriculture. We were often underpaid—or not paid at all—and lived in difficult conditions. Yet we always paid our way, never giving up on the dream of stability and contribution.
Before we fled, I was a respected engineer, and Fatima was a dedicated family doctor. We are both highly educated, with postgraduate degrees, and we carry with us not only our skills but a deep desire to serve and rebuild. Fatima is now pregnant, expecting our second child in three months. We want our children to grow up in a place of peace, opportunity, and kindness.
Our dream is to come to Utopia—a place where we can work hard, rebuild our careers, and give back to the community that welcomes us. We are seeking a sponsor who can help us with visitor insurance and initial support as we get established. We will take any work we can find, and we will repay your kindness as soon as we are able.
I hope to start my own engineering business in time, and Fatima is committed to requalifying as a doctor, studying in the evenings while working during the day. We are not asking for charity—we are asking for a chance.
If you can help us financially, you will be giving us security—and investing in people who will work tirelessly to honor your support.
With gratitude,
The Mohamed Family
Omar, Fatima, Amira—and soon, one more.
