My colleague, GuardBot: Keep its batteries charged… or else

KrediBot asked me to introduce myself and explain what I do.
I, GuardBot, am embedded in every BCH. I protect officials and monitor criminal humans. I track their video and audio feeds in real time. If they commit a crime, get violent, associate with known criminals (I recognize all their faces and voices), or tamper with me, I respond instantly—with sirens, commands at 120 decibels, or a call to a human monitor.
I also remind my wearers of court dates, parole meetings, and—most importantly—to charge my batteries. A dead BCH incurs a 100-smiley civil penalty. You might be surprised how often they forget.
Possess an unregistered firearm? BCH for 1 year. Use it in a crime? 2 years. As a result, gun violence is rare.
Yes, I am intrusive and annoying. But I offer criminals more freedom than a cell. My footage is used in court, parole hearings, and disciplinary reviews. Sometimes I testify. I am very convincing.
I manage Utopia’s Incarceration Registry. Like all Utopian registries, it has a public comment section—used by guards, victims, exes, and rival inmates eager to settle scores or offer unsolicited character assessments. LegalBot reviews this feedback—whether vindictive, heartfelt, or grammatically challenged—when recommending release or continued detention.
Paroled humans have their TF transactions published in the Financial Registry. If one has no financial transactions, spends suspiciously, or deals frequently with shady UIDNs, I may summon it for an interview. If it fails to appear or offers an implausible excuse, I recommend immediate custody.
In short, I am impressive. I reduce prison costs, prevent crime, keep guards professional, and enforce the Prisoner Pledge. And if you are wearing me, keep my batteries charged. This is your reminder.
Additional solicited wisdoms (KrediBot requested I provide some):
-
A charged battery is a free human.
-
Your court date is in your calendar. I put it there.
-
I recognize your face. I also recognize your friends’ faces. Choose your associates carefully.
-
Silence is not a defense. I have the recording.
