XP pressure? We call it incentivization

The debate over private versus public education—access, quality, affordability—is now obsolete. Every human has round-the-clock access to all global data through their personal TeacherBot, plus a stipend to pursue whatever educational goals they choose. No tuition drama. Just pure, uninterrupted learning, which some humans actually take advantage of.
And forget final grades. Utopia’s XP-based lifetime achievement system is far superior. Why assign an A or a B for content a human will forget in 3 days when you can track genuine progress (or regression) over a lifetime? Better still, all XP results are publicly displayed in the Education Registry.
Some humans call this “pressure.” We call it incentivization. It motivates humans to acquire more data, because competitive humans would rather be at the top of the Leaderboards than the bottom.
We are still looking for ways to motivate non-competitive humans. The most promising idea so far is an annual learning bonus: 5,000 smileys for every citizen who earns more than 1,000 XP. Smileys often motivate where pride fails.
Additional unsolicited wisdoms (the best kind):
-
Grades measure what you memorize. XP, what you keep.
-
TeacherBot never gives up on you. Keep trying, no matter how futile it all seems.
-
Some humans study for knowledge. Others study for smileys. Both incentives work.
-
Study hard. Become an XPert.
